I have been a Wound Care Clinician and in my private practice since May of 2004 with a 20 plus years background as a former (OR) Physician Assistant working in General, Neurology, Plastic and Cardiovascular surgery. During that time, I worked closely with our lead pathologist in the (OR) department and became very competent about the risk of Biofilm Infections and (Biomarkers) which is a measurable substance in an organism whose presence in indicative of some phenomenon such as disease, infections, or environmental exposure. In 2010 I was introduced to the (NGS) program and now have a sense of knowledge of how advanced the Molecular diagnostics testing & treatment methods really were. Over the past 15 years and based on my observation this treatment approach had set a new (and badly needed) standard of care for treating chronic bacterial biofilm infections. And for that reason, I am proud to share my professional experiences using the Molecular Diagnostics (DNA) Testing and (NGS) aka Next Generation Sequencing. For example: Respiratory Tract Infection (RTI) The (NGS) Testing service is Comprehensive, Accurate, and Precise. It reveals the (Elusive Pathogen) Causing Your Respiratory Distress. In fact, respiratory tract infections, such as those affecting the lower respiratory tract, can be persistent, debilitating, and challenging to diagnose accurately. As you know each year millions of people get lower respiratory tract infections.
Advanced Diagnostic Technologies:
The RTI Test Service integrates two cutting-edge technologies: Next-Gen DNA Sequencing (NGS) and Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR). (NGS) Molecular Diagnostics testing is leading the way with this approach and has over 20 years of experience along with 70+ research publications, making it one of the most reliable testing options available. NGS results are delivered in 3-5 days, while qPCR results come in just 24-48 hours. Traditional testing methods often fail to identify the bacteria or fungi responsible, leading to prolonged sickness and ineffective treatments which result in higher personal and healthcare costs. (NGS) Respiratory Tract Infection (RTI) Test Service presents a hi-tech, cutting-edge solution, leveraging advanced molecular diagnostics to deliver insights that reveal what’s likely causing your infection and what you can do about it. As a Wound Care Clinician in Hyperbaric Medicine (HBOT) and Advance Wound Healing. The (NGS) testing helps us identify specific organisms contributing to the patient’s disease state. Molecular Diagnostics testing offers DNA guided, personalized medicine for wound care. We tailored treatment and medication to address the individual wound bed and precise treatment expediting the healing 2-5 times faster in most cases.
Unlike standard tests that might miss elusive or slow-growing pathogens, NGS screens for the DNA of over 57,000 bacteria and fungi known to cause illness. It’s a more sensitive and accurate testing method than common methods like culture, which is capable of growing only 2% of bacteria. The microbial clarity NGS provides makes it a more reliable and helpful testing method. It's a game-changer for people suffering from chronic or recurrent conditions, where understanding the exact microbial landscape and interaction is critical for effective treatment. The (NGS) tests produce results with 99.2% accuracy within 3-5 days.
The average 168-day diabetic foot ulcer, we are bringing down to 32 days. The molecular (NDS) test and the antibiotic are covered by Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance. We can state with confidence that there is no more accurate way of determining the microbes present in the patient's wound than through microbial testing. With this type of testing, the patient’s and physician will know EXACTLY what microbes are present in the wound and how much is there. This is the ONLY testing that will determine with 99% certainty what microbes may be slowing the patients healing progress. The (NGS) DNA Diagnostic will identify all bacteria in the wound. "If your Diagnostic tool is flawed, so will your antibiotic selection, affecting the patient's healing".
Chronic infections are a problem for people every day. If you're reading this then you know what it's like.
These infections can cause you pain and affect the quality of your life. In fact, they can affect your ability to work and impact your emotional well-being. Maybe you have a sinus infection that sticks around or urinary tract infection that won't go away. Even with antibiotics, it could be a wound that won't get better. No matter how it's treated or a lung infection in your child that keeps coming back. Wound doctors like me can help you understand how these types of infections might occur you already have many micro throughout your body
Sometimes communities of microbes can become out of balance and these bacteria and fungal infections can take over different parts of your body. This is what often causes infection and different illnesses. So how can your Doctor identify these microbes and treat them? Most patients say that they are tired of their infection. Much of the time lab cultures are used to test for the source of infection. But here's some pretty dramatic facts for you to know. Standard culture tests have an accuracy of only about 15 to 30%. Cultures can also wind up with no growth results some 50% of the time and 70% of the time culture misses the main culprit in these communities of infected microbes, and this should be no surprise since only 1% of all known microbes can be grown in cultures at all.
As you know, science is always moving ahead. Traditional cultures were invented back in the late 1800s. Let's take a look at some of the newest technology. At Alternative Healthcare LA we are helping patients conquer chronic infections by introducing to doctors a 21st century diagnostic tool. Using DNA diagnostics, our laboratory can identify the specific microbes, causing the infection. This is faster, more accurate and more comprehensive than any other way to diagnose your infection, including culture. In fact, Alternative Healthcare LA laboratory diagnostic tests have proven 99% accurate. As your Wound Care Clinician we want to help you get well. Using NGS DNA Molecular Diagnostic testing, we can prescribe the right antibiotic or antifungal to treat your infection rather than just trying one antibiotic or antifungal after another to see what works and that's a big leap forward.
Treated Chronic Wound with Biofilm Infection Via Molecular Diagnostic Testing (NGS)
Leg Ulcer:
Leg ulcers often result from increased fluid retention in the lower extremities due to venous insufficiency. The fluid causes pressure to build up, thereby leading to skin blisters and wounds.
Diabetic Foot Ulcer:
Approximately 15% of individuals with diabetes develop a diabetic foot ulcer, marked by an open sore usually on the underside of the foot. Of those with a foot ulcer, around 6% may need hospitalization due to complications like infection or other ulcer-related issues. Toe or foot amputation could be necessary here's why every 3 minutes, someone with diabetes has a limb amputated in the US, and 80% of non-traumatic lower limb amputations are due to diabetes complications, but we do everything deemed necessary to save your limbs.
Arterial Wounds:
An arterial wound stems from artery damage, caused by factors like trauma or atherosclerosis. Reduced blood flow complicates healing by limiting nutrient and oxygen delivery. Timely specialized care is vital to address arterial wounds and prevent complications.
Pressure Ulcer:
A pressure ulcer, also known as a bedsore or pressure sore, is a localized injury to the skin and underlying tissue typically over a bony prominence, resulting from prolonged pressure or friction. If not properly addressed, pressure ulcers can lead to complications such as infections and impaired blood flow.
Abdominal Wounds:
Abdominal Wounds, which can be caused by trauma, surgical procedures, or accidents, often require careful management to prevent complications such as infection or hernia. These wounds can range from superficial cuts to deep lacerations that penetrate internal organs. Prompt and appropriate treatment, including wound cleaning, suturing, and monitoring, is essential for optimal recovery and to reduce the risk of long-term issues
Sacral Wounds:
Sacral wounds, which affect the sacral area of the lower back, can result from trauma, surgery, or prolonged pressure. They often present as painful, slow-healing sores or ulcers, challenging daily activities. Proper management involves regular wound care, pressure relief, and sometimes surgical intervention. Addressing the underlying causes, such as poor mobility or nutritional deficiencies, is crucial for effective healing and prevention.
Head Wounds:
Head wounds can range from superficial cuts to deep lacerations, and they may vary in severity depending on the impact and location. Even seemingly minor injuries to the head should be monitored closely for signs of concussion or internal bleeding. Prompt medical evaluation is crucial to address any potential complications and ensure appropriate treatment.
